I try my best to give an accurate quote upfront. However, many times it is a work in progress, as is every website. As the client's requirements change, so too does the amount of work or time a project might take to complete. Therefore, I will charge a straight fee for certain items and bill on a per hourly fee for others. We can of course work out a total package price for a site built from scratch. I include some search engine optimization techniques into the actual design of the site, but there are companies out there that specialize in it. I will work on sites that are already in existence to add products, or create additional pages to match the existing ones.
Following is a list of basic prices:
$5.00 per page for meta tags (Title, Description & Keyword) I will research and discuss with the client who their target audience is and what products they want to optimize.
$10.00 per page includes meta tags (Title, Description & Keyword) alt tags on images and adding better text descriptions of products or services for keyword saturation, and working with the text for better search engine placement.
$1.00 per link added - that you find for link exchanges with other website owners.
$15.00 to create a link banner (graphics) to use to exchange links.
Anything else, like adding products or creating new pages or graphics, would be billable at $20.00 per hour, which I think is extremely reasonable by web design standards. Also please remember that a lot of what I am doing is usually done by SEO (search engine optimization) companies. I just do it for the clients whose site I am working on (new or maintaining) because it is good customer service.
